There’s yet another reason to make the South West town of Bunbury a stop on your next road trip – its brilliant new Koolambidi Woola Youth Precinct. Koolambidi Woola is Noongar for ‘celebrating young people’. Here there’s a basketball court, parkour (for big and little kids), massive beach climbing net, skate park, and even mini golf! Next time you head south with your family, be sure to pack the skateboards and scooters! The new multi-million-dollar Youth Precinct opened recently (July 2022), on the Bunbury.

The new skate and scooter facilities are fantastic. Catering for beginner to advanced level skaters there are a lot of jumps, ramps and rails to encourage kids to work on their skills. The huge bowl will excite seasoned skaters.

The concrete park has lots of banks, steps, rails and more.

And it’s not just for kids who love their wheels! There’s parkour too, making it a destination for kids of all ages. There are two parkour areas. By the basketball court, you’ll find a beginner’s course for little jumpers.

This area also doubles as a mini golf course. Be sure to BYO putters and balls.

While by the climbing nets you’ll find the main parkour area for tweens and teens.

And a “hamster wheel” will keep the kiddos entertained for hours. THIS was a huge hit and a unique feature I’ve only ever seen once or twice before.

Bunbury Youth Precinct

There’s a multi-sport court.

And massive beach climbing net.

A concrete climbing wall will keep little monkeys busy for ages too.

There’s even a built-in trampoline.

Most of the Youth Precinct is in direct sunlight, though there are a few shelters around the precinct. You’ll need to slip, slop, slap. Other facilities include BBQ areas, picnic tables, seating and public toilets.

This is a brilliant cost-free outdoor activity for kids in Bunbury. Grommets of all ages will love the Bunbury Skate Park and Youth Precinct. Be sure to check it out!
